    Health Stuff - Final Report... I Hope

    Well, I went to the doctor today for a follow-up appointment. Hate to say I told you so. But I did. He doesn't know what caused the pain. But the pain has subsided and is almost gone. And just about everything has been ruled out that might have been 'big stuff.' The ultrasound and blood work revealed all normal.

    Thanks for the prayers everyone. Not only do I feel much better - but the Sacramento Kings crushed the Los Angeles Lakers last night 113-101. That, my friends, could have been what healed me. Then again, their pathetic play up to this point might have been the cause of my ailments. It's tough to be loyal to a struggling team.

    Glad God is loyal to me... as a struggling 'player' for His team.

    Pain In The Side

    Many of you know by now that I have had a pain on my right back side under my ribcage. It lasted about a week gradually getting worse. It got so bad that I couldn't even lie on my left side at all. Then I couldn't lay on my right side or my back.

    After a quick trip to my trusted chiropractor, I headed to my family doctor. After a battery of questions and pokes and peeing in a cup - I got an ultrasound and some blood work done.

    AND JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS - I SAW MY HEART BEATING ON THE ULTRASOUND... SO I DEFINITELY HAVE A HEART! Just for some of you who might think contrary to that.

    I had one student from my first ministry in Missouri advise me that she always knew I had a heart... it was a sense of humor she was looking to find. I'm not speaking to her anymore.

    The good news is that I'm feeling better (in the side area). Still waiting to hear the results of the blood test. Hopefully, I'll get a call before the weekend. Thanks for the prayers everyone - I really appreciate it.

    Cracks and Aging

    I have found something incredibly interesting in the last three months. Most of you know that I have been losing some weight since around April. In fact, I have lost over 17 pounds during that time. I walk on the treadmill, eat less, and only have a Dew a day (something about keeping the doctor away?).

    What I have noticed is that when I go up the stairs of our home... me knees and ankles don't crack. I mean hardly ever. And before the loss of the excess 'bowling ball' on my body - I used to sound like the fourth of July as I went up the stairs. Each knee and ankle snapping and popping at every step. Early mornings were a killer cause I would wake everyone up.

    Now, I get up between 5am & 6am - but I'm in stealth mode. I don't know about you, but I would have never thought losing a little weight would make such a difference on my body... not like that. No big - just interesting to me.
